Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Road Resurfacing Project on Interstate 15
in Teton County

DUTTON The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal
to resurface about 13 miles of Interstate 15 north of Dutton on the
northbound driving lane and ramps. The project begins 3.3 miles south
of the Dutton interchange at reference post 309.2 and extends north
for 13.0 accumulated miles, ending 1.2 miles north of the Collins
Road Interchange at reference post 322.7.

Proposed work includes
milling the existing surface of the northbound driving lane, applying
a new overlay, finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), applying
a seal and cover on the northbound on/off ramps and cross roads, and
upgrading pavement markings and signage. The purpose of the project
is to eliminate the existing rutting by applying a cold mill and
overlay to extend the life of the roadway.

The project is
tentatively scheduled for construction in 2018, depending on
completion of all project development activities and availability of
funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
