of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S. Highway 2
MARION — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to
notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about
13.8 miles of U.S. Highway 2 near Marion in Flathead County. The
project begins near the Paradise Loop Road intersection at McGregor
Lake at reference post 89.4 and extends east for 13.8 miles, ending
about 2.6 miles east of Marion at reference post 103.2.
work includes a seal and cover (chip seal), fog seal and upgraded
pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to take a
cost-effective action to prolong and preserve the existing pavement.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019,
depending on completion of all project development activities and
availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations
will be needed.
