Department of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S.
Highway 93

EVARO The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
resurface about 3.1 miles of U.S. Highway 93 near Evaro in Missoula
County. The project begins about 0.2 miles north of the Whispering
Pines Road intersection at reference post 9.6 and extends north for
3.1 miles, ending at the McClure Road intersection at reference post

Proposed work includes a seal and cover (chip seal) and fog
seal for the entire project length, a bridge deck crack seal, and
upgrading pavement markings. From reference post 9.6 to 10.5, the
existing roadway surface will be milled and a new asphalt overlay
will be installed prior to the final chip seal and fog seal. The
purpose of the project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong
and preserve the existing pavement.

The project is tentatively
scheduled for construction in 2019, depending on completion of all
project development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
