of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for Secondary Highway
508 Near Yaak
YAAK — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
resurface about 5.7 miles of Secondary Highway 508 southwest of Yaak
in Lincoln County. The project begins 0.5 miles south of the Burnt
Dutch Road intersection at reference post 12.4 and extends north for
5.7 miles, ending 0.4 miles north of the Meadow Creek Road
intersection at reference post 18.1.
Proposed work includes milling
the existing surface, applying a new asphalt overlay, and finishing
with a seal and cover (chip seal) and fog seal. The pavement
markings, guardrail end sections, and signage will also be replaced.
The purpose of the project is to take a cost-effective action to
prolong and preserve the existing pavement.
The project is
tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019, depending on
completion of all project development activities and availability of
funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
