The milling and paving work for the northern segment is planned for early next month.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), LHC Inc., and Knife River are improving roughly 19 miles of Montana Highway 83 (MT 83) near Swan Lake. Crews anticipate working on the following, weather permitting:

1. North segment: beginning just north of Bond Creek and extending for approximately 5 miles, ending just north of Soup Creek Road.

Week of July 17:

• Traffic control placement.
• Preparations underway for pavement removal, requiring single-lane closures. Temporary traffic lights and pilot cars will assist drivers through the project area. Be prepared for delays.

2. South segment: beginning north of Lion Creek bridge, extending to the Lake/Missoula County line.

• Work is anticipated to begin mid-August.
