TRAFFIC FINES DOUBLE in highway work zones. The law also sets fines and jail sentences for reckless endangerment of highway workers.

MINOR DELAYS (up to ten minutes) can be expected through these projects with anything over ten minutes being noted in the description. Watch for equipment, flaggers, and workers along the road. Expect reduced speed limits.


Active Construction Projects

I-15 - Mile Marker 150.9 to 157.7
Bernice to Basin.
*Bridge work is in progress in the northbound lane from mileposts 153.0 to 157.0.
*Two-way traffic is in place. Northbound traffic is crossed over to the southbound lane from mileposts 153.0 to 157.0.
***A 12 foot width restriction is in place from milepost 150.9 to 157.7. Wide loads over 12 feet heading north on I-15 will be staged at milepost 150.9. Wide loads over 12 feet heading south on I-15 will be staged at milepost 160.0.
Oversized loads will be piloted Monday - Thursday, between 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
**Each driver must coordinate their arrival time at least 48 hours in advance by calling Keith Johnston with Mountain West Traffic Control, Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, at 406-490-8390 or 406-782-1422.

I-15 - Mile Marker 192.2 to 193.1
Helena - Between Capitol Interchange and Cedar Interchange.
The two crossovers on the northbound and southbound bridges are functional. The southbound bridge is closed to traffic. The northbound passing lane on I-15 will be closed to allow the southbound traffic passage. Wide loads are permitted through the project, please use caution.
Please watch for workers in the work zone, safe travels.

I-15 - Mile Marker 217.5 to 222
5 Miles South of Wolf Creek Interchange to Sieben Interchange (Exit 216).
Rock removal project. There is a 12-foot width restriction in place. Loads over 12 feet wide will need to be piloted through the project site. Pilot cars will be running Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
**Wide load staging areas will be mile marker 222 for southbound traffic and mile marker 217.5 for northbound traffic. There will be signs at these locations.
This width restriction will be in effect for approximately six weeks. Proper permit carriers may seek alternative routes around the width restrictions.

I-15 - Mile Marker 282 to 286
Emerson Jct to Manchester.
Roadway reconstruction. We will be having a wide load restriction on I-15 from Emerson Jct to Manchester MM 282.2 - 285.9.
** Wide loads will be piloted through 8 AM to 10 AM Monday thru Thursday. This will be in effect until mid-September. We will have staging areas for the wide loads to park in. North bound will be at the truck stop located at the top of the hill by the airport. South bound will be located at the pull out at approx MM 288. There will be signs directing the wide loads in these locations.
***There are staging areas for the wide loads to park.
> The northbound staging area is at the Gore Hill truck stop by the airport.
> The southbound staging area is at the pullout between the Vaughn and Manchester exits at MP 288.

I-15 - Mile Marker 328.1 to 397.1
Near Brady and extends north 69.2 miles near Sweet Grass.
Contractor is installing fence out on the R/W therefore not impacting traffic. Contractor is also installing cattle guards on the NB & SB on and off ramps of the Ledger Interchange. Motorists should use EXTREME caution and be aware of equipment and personnel close to the roadway

I-90 - Mile Marker 5.7 to 23.3
I-90 Between Taft Interchange and St. Regis MM 5.7 TO MM 23.3 E & W Bound Lanes.
***All East bound and West bound loads over 16 feet wide must take an alternate route until further notice.
There will be crews cutting rumble strips in the East and West Bound Lanes. Work will take place in the passing lanes and driving lanes.

I-90 - Mile Marker 14.5 to 29.6
Drexel - East and West.
*All piloting has been rescinded.
Traffic is now single lane through the project traveling in their respective sides on the interstate.
Exit 26 Ward Creek Road is closed, it will remain closed until further notice.
*All Eastbound and Westbound loads over 16 feet wide must take an alternate route until further notice.

I-90 - Mile Marker 36 to 51
I 90 Lozeau Interchange East Bound and West Bound Lanes.
Crews are cleaning and sealing bridge decks.

From 3.9 miles west of Superior to 2.1 miles east of Superior..

I-90 - Mile Marker 104.5 to 104.9
Orange Street Interchange.
Due to limited driving area, tractor trailer combinations are directed to use the Reserve St exit 101 or the Van Buren St exit 105. This applies to the on/off ramps and North Orange St.

Homestake Pass Guardrail Replacement.
Guardrail replacement work being performed in the eastbound lanes over Homestake Pass between mileposts 230 and 242.

I-90 - Mile Marker 240.1 to 249.2
Pipestone - Whitehall.
***A 12 foot width restriction is in effect. Loads over 12 feet wide will be escorted Monday through Thursday, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. Each driver must coordinate their arrival time at least 48 hours in advance by calling Keith Johnston with Mountain West Traffic Control, Monday - Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm at (406) 490-8390 or (406) 782-1422.
**I-90 traffic is being detoured onto the Pipestone Interchange ramps. Expect a reduced speed of 25 mph.
**Two-way traffic is in effect from mileposts 242.4 to 248.1.

Yellowstone River - Livingston.

***Staging areas are available on each end of the project for loads between 12 and 18 feet in width. These loads will be escorted through the project site Monday through Thursday each week, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
32- J loads (loads greater than 18 feet wide, 150 feet long, and 17 feet high) must contact the Prime Contractor at (406) 490-8390 Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, before traveling to make special arrangements to be escorted through the project site on a case-by-case basis. 32- J carriers will be required to enter into a written agreement with the prime contractor to receive trip permits. All carriers may also consider use of alternate routes.

I-94 - Mile Marker 0 to 7
Project begins at Pinehills Interchange at M.P. 0.0 where I-90 and I-94 converge. The project extends northeast 6.9 miles on I-94 to M.P.7.0 ending 0.8 miles east of Pryor Creek Interchange.
**ACTUAL WIDTH RESTRICTION IS 11 FEET 6 INCHES****
Milling, overlay, seal & cover, bridge deck treatment, guardrail and signing work in progress.
**Lane closure and detour on the Pryor Creek Bridge (milepost 6.5) and Huntley Interchange Bridge (milepost 6.2). Traffic will be detoured down the off/on ramps in the westbound lane at Huntley Interchange.
WIDTH RESTRICTIONS AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Widths will be restricted to 11 feet 6 inches. Wide loads exceeding 11 feet 6 inches wide must use an alternate route. Possible duration will be from April 17th through June 23rd.

Harrison Avenue - South.

*Single lane closures will be in place in the northbound and southbound lanes from Dewey Blvd. to JCT MT-2 (milepost 86.5) due to all above operations.

Idaho State Line - East.
Crews continue removing and replacing shoulder material in two-mile increments taking about one day per section, weather permitting. Work will begin at the state line and proceed east.

Placement of roundabout, plant mix surfacing, pipe, signing, lights and pavement markings at the intersection. The detours on the project are operational now. The Lincoln Road/Green Meadow Road intersection still has both the Northbound and Southbound traffice on Green Meadow Road stopping at this intersection. Please use caution when driving this section of road and keep the speed limit to 25 mph on the project.

Bozeman Street Signalized Intersections.
Traffic signal upgrades will take place at 56 different signalized intersection locations city wide. To reduce impacts to traffic, work will be performed during nighttime hours.

South Fork of Flathead River Bridge - HUNGRY HORSE.
