TRAFFIC FINES DOUBLE in highway work zones. The law also sets fines and jail sentences for reckless endangerment of highway workers.

MINOR DELAYS (up to ten minutes) can be expected through these projects with anything over ten minutes being noted in the description. Watch for equipment, flaggers, and workers along the road. Expect reduced speed limits.


Active Construction Projects

I-15 - Mile Marker 37.9 to 45.9
Red Rock - Clark Canyon.
*Milling and paving operations in progress.
*Work in progress on northbound bridges and on exit 44, Horse Prairie Interchange.
**Exit 44, Horse Prairie Interchange is open to single lane traffic, controlled by signal lights.
*Loads over 12 feet wide heading north and south on I-15 will be staged in a lane closure. *Oversized loads will be piloted Mon-Thur between 9 am & 11 am. Each driver will have to coordinate their arrival time with Keith Johnston, Mountain West Traffic Control at least 48 hours in advance by calling 406-490-8390 8 am - 5 pm Mon - Fri
*32J loads (18'x150'x17') must also contact the above Prime Contractor to make arrangements to be escorted through on a case by case basis. 32J carriers will be required to enter into a written agreement to receive trip permits. All carriers may also consider an alternate route.

Lewis and Clark/Jefferson County Line north to just north of Custer Avenue.
Driving lane will be closed in the southbound lane just south of the Captiol Interchange and also the driving lane in the Northbound lane just past the Custer Interchange Off-Ramp will be closed until Saturday night October 14, 2017

I-15 - Mile Marker 192.2 to 193.1
Helena - Between Capitol Interchange and Cedar Interchange.
The contractor will be closing the right-on/right-off lane for the capitol Interchange Off-Ramp until the end of Saturday October 14, 2017

I-15 - Mile Marker 282 to 286
Emerson Jct to Manchester.
Reconstruction work in progress. There will be a 12 foot width restriction on I-15 from Emerson JCT to Manchester MP 282.to 285.9. Wide loads will follow a pilot car from 8 am to 10 am Monday thru Thursday until late November. Staging areas for the wide loads to park in will be at the Gore Hill truck stop for northbound traffic and MM 288 pull out for southbound traffic. I-15 - Mile Marker 328.1 to 397.1
Brady north 69.2 miles to Sweetgrass.
Contractor is performing seeding operations on the disturbed areas next to the cattleguards. Motorists should use extreme caution around equipment and personnel on or close to the roadway.

I-90 - Mile Marker 29 to 34
I-90 Near St Regis.
**Beginning October 10th, 2017 there will be a 14 foot width restriction on the East Bound I 90 Clark Fork River Bridge at Mile Post 33.9 in Mineral County until further notice. All East Bound Loads will need to find an alternate route until futher notice.
Crews are doing bridge deck repairs and overlay, joint seals and pavement markings.
*A 14 foot width restriction is in place in the WB lane at Exit 33 St Regis Off Ramp in Mineral County until further notice.
** All West Bound loads over 14 feet wide needing to exit at St Regis to go North on Hwy 135 must detour accordingly.
***Detour will be as follows: Continue traveling west of St Regis Exit 33 to the Two Mile Interchange at Exit 30. Take the WB off ramp at Exit 30 and follow detour signs to double back onto I-90 in an easterly direction, exit at St Regis Interchange mile post 33.

32- J loads (loads greater than 18 feet wide, 150 feet long, and 17 feet high) must contact the Prime Contractor at (406) 490-8390 Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, before traveling to make special arrangements to be escorted through the project site on a case-by-case basis. 32- J carriers will be required to enter into a written agreement with the prime contractor to receive trip permits. Beginning on October 23, 2017 contractor will be boring holes on the east end of the Yellowstone River Bridge.

Estimated work time of 4 days on eastbound lane and 4 days on westbound lane. There will be no work during inclement weather and after dark.

MADISON STREET BRIDGE REHAB.
**Starting early Sunday Morning October 15th, 2017. Crews will setup single lane traffic control on Madison Street Bridge. Work will be done in both the North and South Bound Lanes. Work will take approximately a week to complete depending on weather conditions. Pedestrian detour information will be available.
Crews will be sealing the Bridge Deck and applying pavement markings.

Bank Stabilization East of Roundup.
Bank Stabilization work will be in progress in four approximate locations: 2.5 miles west of Ryegate, 8 miles west of Ryegate, 11 miles east of Roundup and 15 miles east of Roundup. Work will be off the roadway with possible reduced speeds and shoulder closures.

COLUMBIA FALLS.
