...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 545 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...



The Flood Advisory will expire at 545 AM MDT early this morning for a

portion of south central Montana, including the following area,

Yellowstone.



The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a

threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures and be alert

this morning for damage to rural roads north of Shepherd and Huntley,

and east of Acton.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM MDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...North Central Cascade County in central Montana...



* WHEN...Until 1000 AM MDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 757 AM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated

    heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This  is causing urban and small

    stream flooding. Between 0.3 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.3 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Great Falls, Black Eagle, Malmstrom Afb, First Peoples Buffalo

    Jump State Park and Vaughn.

  - Minor flooding is occurring on the Northwest Bypass in Great

    Falls.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
