Montana...southeast Montana and north central Wyoming.
* WHAT...Cool and wet conditions with significant precipitation in
the mountains and foothills. Then, rising river and stream water
levels this week.
* WHERE...Southern Montana and northern Wyoming.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A powerful storm system will impact the area
through Monday night. Precipitation amounts of 2 to 3 inches are

locally higher amounts possible. This moisture will cause rises
on rivers and streams this week. Additionally, there will likely
be significant ponding of water in fields and low lying areas
close to the foothills. Heavy wet snow will fall in the mountains
above 8000 feet...impacting outdoor recreation and the Beartooth
Highway.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Activities in the high country will be severely impacted by heavy
wet snow and cooler than normal temps through tonight. People
along small creeks and streams, espcially in and near the
foothills, should be prepared for rising waer levels later this
