Project Overview
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Sletten Construction are rehabilitating seven bridges on Interstate 15 (I-15) and Interstate 90 (I-90) in Silver Bow and Jefferson counties. These bridges were built between 1961 and 1966 and are in need of repair and routine maintenance. This project will provide cost-effective improvements that will enhance safety features, provide a smoother driving surface, and increase the service life of the bridges. The bridges include:
- I-15 German Gulch Road Exit 119
- I-15/I-190 Montana Street Exit 126 (north and southbound bridges)
- I-15/I-90 Harrison Avenue Exit 127 (north and southbound bridges)
- I-90 Burlington Street
- I-90 Homestake Pass Road Exit 233
Improvements on the bridges varied, but each included work to rehabilitate the bridge and extend their service life.
German Gulch Road Bridge had its bridge deck (driving surface) replaced.
Homestake Pass Road Bridge had its bridge deck rehabilitated.
Montana Street and Harrison Avenue Bridges had their concrete substructure rehabilitated.
Burlington Street Bridge had its concrete substructure rehabilitated.
Work on bridges included a combination of:
