About MDT

Thank you for taking some time to learn about the Montana Department of Transportation. You’ll find we are more than pavement and bridges. We are a workforce of over 2,000 people across Montana doing what we can so that you can arrive at your destination safely.

MDT is about people, mission, and values. We know a well-planned and functioning transportation system contributes to the quality of life of Montana residents and the economies of our communities. We strive for organizational excellence, clear and consistent service, and accountability.
