Construction on the Cyr Bridge on Old Highway 10 began in April 2024 and is expected to be completed in the fall. Here's the work that has been completed so far:

  • Removed and replaced the concrete in the east end retaining wall.
  • Sealed cracks in the east end retaining wall.
  • Removed concrete in the piers and pier caps.
  • Reinforced the concrete in the piers with new rebar.
  • Set steel casings on the pier caps.

What's next?

As weather permits over the next few months, crews will begin concrete repair work on the steel structure, replace worn or damaged rivets, and repair the bridge deck and paint floor beams.

What to expect during construction:

  • The Cyr Bridge is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • The Clark Fork River Boat Ramp located near the Cyr Bridge will remain open.
  • A detour route is expected to be in place throughout construction.
  • For access to and from the boat ramp and the west side of the river, motorists will need to use the Fish Creek Interchange (Exit 66).
  • For access to and from the east side of the river, westbound Interstate 90 (I-90) motorists will need to use the Cyr Interchange (Exit 70). Eastbound I-90 motorists will need to use the Alberton Interchange (Exit 75), enter I-90 traveling westbound, and exit at the Cyr Interchange.
  • Boating and floating beneath the bridge will remain open, however signage may direct traffic to one side of the river at certain times. Do not linger beneath the bridge.
