Project Overview

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner Riverside Contracting will reconstruct a section of Secondary Highway 232, commonly known as Wild Horse Trail, near Havre. Improvements include wider shoulders, straighter curves, flatter grades, and new pavement from 4th Avenue North to Road 445 North. Planned reconstruction will improve vehicle travel for all motorists and travelers in the region.

Construction Schedule

Construction is anticipated to begin the week of May 5 at both ends of the project area with crews working their way toward the middle. Crews plan to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather and other unforeseen factors permitting.

Traffic Control

Watch for flaggers and reduced speeds throughout the construction area. Two-lane traffic will be maintained throughout the majority of the project with single-lane traffic required intermittently and accompanied by signal lights and a pilot car. No width restrictions are in place at this time.
