Project Overview
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has replaced the two bridges that carry Interstate 90 over Quinn Creek Road. These bridges are located on Bozeman Hill Pass between Bozeman and Livingston in Park County. The new bridges and additional safety improvements will provide safe crossing for motorists over Quinn Creek Road for many years.

Construction began in the spring of 2022 and was substantially completed in fall 2022. Crews will return in 2023 to seal and cover (chip seal) and apply a high-friction surface treatment to the bridge decks (driving surface), which will enhance safety and reduce maintenance costs. This work is anticipated to take approximately two weeks to complete. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on I 90 during this time.
Work completed in 2022 included:
- Removing and replacing two overpass bridges.
- Minor bridge approach roadway work.
- Upgrading guardrails and improving drainage.
The project used an accelerated schedule to complete the design plans in 2021, with all major aspects of construction completed in 2022. Visit the Accelerated Bridge Construction web page for more information.
