Study Focus
The Montana Department of Transportation has identified a need to evaluate options for the existing Jefferson City Safety Rest Area. The northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) sites are located on Interstate 15 (I-15) south of Clancy. The goal of the study was to evaluate two alternatives: reduction in service and complete closure of the facilities. The study was based on existing site constraints, corridor needs, public/stakeholder input, and financial feasibility to operate and maintain.
