The Behavioral Safety Strategy & Coordination Section provides federal grant funding to support traffic safety programs that reduce traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries. These grants help communities and organizations implement impactful safety initiatives across the state.

Funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Enhanced law enforcement efforts such as high visibility enforcement.
  • Educational campaigns and programs that promote safe driving behaviors.
  • Increased seat belt use for all occupants.
  • Reduced recidivism rates for DUI offenders.
  • Criminal justice practitioner training.

Grant funding is awarded through an application process.
