Project Overview

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is partnering with Riverside Contracting, Inc., to complete Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades in Billings. This project will include ADA-compliant ramps, a new approach at the Lithia Dealership, and changes to pavement markings along King Avenue West from 24th Street West to the Interstate 90 (I-90) City Center westbound on-ramp.

The ADA improvements are expected to be constructed in the summer of 2025. To enhance safety and accessibility for all users, 24 ADA corner ramps and one reconstructed approach are planned.

Billings District ADA Upgrades

The Billings ADA phase is one section of the Billings District ADA Upgrades project, which also includes improvements in the Lewistown and Bridger communities. As a part of MDT’s statewide effort to improve pedestrian facilities across Montana, this project will bring sidewalks in each of these communities into compliance with current ADA standards, allowing greater accessibility for all.
