The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. are continuing milling and paving on U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) this week. Crews have completed paving on the northbound driving and passing lanes and the southbound driving lane. Currently, it is anticipated that paving on the southbound passing lane will be completed this week, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting.
Following completion of the southbound passing lane, paving in the median lane at the Rose Crossing and Birch Grove Road intersections will occur. Removal of road surface bumps through bump grinding and rumble strip installation on the roadway shoulder will take place later this week.
What to expect during construction:
- One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
- Speed limits will be reduced.
- Work may take place 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work may be approved by the project manager on a case-by-case basis if requested by the contractor.
- Birch Grove Road intersection will be closed to east/west traffic for up to a 5-day period.
- Wide loads may be restricted at times.
- Motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.

July 30, 2025
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. are continuing milling and paving on U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) this week. Crews will alternate work between the northbound and southbound passing lanes at the north end of the project. Anticipate lane closures in the project area.
Other work taking place this week includes pouring new concrete sidewalk corners at the Rose Crossing and US 2 intersection.
What to expect during construction:
- One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
- Speed limits will be reduced.
- Work may take place 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work may be approved by the project manager on a case-by-case basis if requested by the contractor.
- Birch Grove Road intersection will be closed to east/west traffic for up to a 5-day period.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. will resume milling and paving operations this week as crews begin work in the northbound passing lane of U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) between Rose Crossing and Glacier Park International Airport. This lane will be closed during milling and paving, and the median lane may be impacted during construction.
Additional work being completed this week includes replacing traffic signals in the project area.

- Work may take place 24 hours a day, Monday through Saturday. Sunday work may be approved by the project manager on a case-by-case basis if requested by the contractor.

July 16, 2025
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. will temporarily close the intersection at Rose Crossing and U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) on July 18 and July 19 so that crews can remove and replace pavement in the intersection.
This closure is anticipated to last 2 days and motorists should seek alternate routes such as Helena Flats Road and Trumble Creek Road at this time. US 2 passing lanes will remain open to north and southbound traffic during this closure; only east and westbound traffic will be disrupted. The intersection is anticipated to reopen to east and westbound traffic on Sunday, July 20.
The intersection of Birch Grove Road and US 2 will also be closed as part of this project in the future.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. will continue milling and paving on U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) next week. Crews completed resurfacing work on the Motor Carrier Services (MCS) weigh station on Wednesday, July 2.
On Monday, July 7, crews will finish resurfacing the northbound driving lane and start milling and paving the southbound driving lane from the north end of the project area near Glacier Park International Airport.
No work is scheduled Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 in observance of Independence Day.

The week of June 30, crews anticipate pouring concrete for curb work at the Rose Crossing intersection. This is expected to take a few days to complete and during that time the sidewalks will be closed at this intersection.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and LHC Inc. began work on the US 2 Rose Crossing to Glacier Airport project this week, doing minor sidewalk and electrical upgrade work at the Rose Crossing intersection.
Beginning June 23, crews will mill and pave the driving lanes of U.S. Highway 2 (US 2) within the project limits. Crews plan to begin south of Rose Crossing and move north toward the Glacier Park International Airport.
