Data from the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) for 2022 indicates Montana exceeded the national average of alcohol-impaired driver fatalities in million vehicle mile traveled. For the year the national average was 0.42 whereas Montana had a rate of 0.53.
FARS Data also shows that 34% of all fatalities in Montana were the result of alcohol-impaired driving, this is down from 43% in 2021.
Our goals are to:
- Reduce Alcohol-Impaired Fatalities
- To attain a five-year average rate of impaired driving fatalities of 86.9 by December 31, 2026.
