The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its partner, Riverside Contracting Inc., have finished laying gravel on the US Highway 89 (US 89) roadway and approaches north of Choteau city limits. Crews are placing an aggregate treatment on the roadway and preparing the approaches for paving. All work is dependent on weather and other unforeseen factors.

For the week of June 28, drivers can expect:

  • A gravel driving surface.
  • Crews working from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Traffic control including pilot cars, temporary traffic signals, and reduced speeds through the project area.
  • Short delays.

Fourth of July Holiday: Crews will pause construction activities at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 and resume on Monday, July 8.

Attention drivers: Please be patient when traveling through the project area and follow all traffic control and signage. Wait for pilot cars before entering the project area to ensure safety of all roadway users and construction crews.
