The 2025 AASHTO Research Advisory Committee (RAC) summer meeting was held in Billings, Montana, from Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17, 2025. Over 60 participants from State Departments of Transportation, FHWA, the Transportation Research Board (TRB), National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), universities, and private firms attended. The agenda offered collaborative opportunities to explore various research issues and topics.
A highlight of the summer meeting are the High Value Research Awards. All of the AASHTO RAC regions put forward projects they deemed high value. Each region voted for its top four. “Honorable Mention” awards were also give to the top two regional winners in the categories of Safety, Security, and Emergencies and Maintenance, Management, and Preservation.
