Havre Reconstruction Project Open House Public Meeting
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) held an open house public meeting on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, to provide information about planned highway improvements to Secondary 232 (S 232), commonly known as Wild Horse Trail, just north of Havre.
The project will improve S 232 in Hill County. Improvements include wider shoulders, straighter curves, flattened hills, and new pavement from 4th Avenue North to Road 60 North.
Nearly 20 people joined us for the Havre Reconstruction Project open house public meeting. MDT and HDR’s design, right-of-way, and public involvement team members provided current project information and asked folks to provide feedback.

Havre Reconstruction Project Open House Public Meeting
The Montana Department of Transportation held an open house public meeting on Thursday, July 15, 2021, to provide information about planned highway improvements to Secondary 232 (Wild Horse Trail), near Havre. Nearly 30 people joined us for the Havre Reconstruction Project open house public meeting. We provided current project information and asked folks to provide feedback to the project team.
The project will improve Secondary 232 (Wild Horse Trail) in Hill County, MT, just north of Havre. Improvements include wider shoulders, straighter curves, flatter grades, and new pavement for a smoother driving surface from 4th Ave N to Road 445 N.
The project boards and map rolls are available now, see the links below. The public was asked to write on the map rolls and discuss their comments with the project engineers. The public provided information about the road in all conditions including rain and snow, and indicated locations where it was difficult to pull onto or off the road.
